Characters with personality. Environments with atmosphere. Learning experiences that teach through story and play rather than through instruction and assessment. I've been doing this for over two decades — first as an illustrator, then as a visual designer, then as an interactive developer, and now as all three at once.

The K-12 work you'll find here was built through my educational non-profit, Virtual Homeschool Group, serving 4,500 to 5,000 students annually. I own it and share it freely under Creative Commons licensing because that's what it was always for — giving students something genuinely worth engaging with.

Tools have evolved continuously. The philosophy hasn't. Whether I'm designing a science simulation, animating a character, or building puzzle logic for a game-based lesson, the question is always the same: does this feel alive? Does it make someone lean in?

Why it works: This is a famous, free, fully interactive sandbox game. It displays a live graphical tree of your commits on the right side of the screen as you type basic terminal commands on the left. It visualizes exactly how pointers split and merge, removing all the mystery.
